Elaine Darr-Morton

Elaine is a native of Northampton, Massachusetts. Two years ago she moved to Belchertown with her husband. They share a mutual interest in the arts. Elaine’s initial interest in photography was point and shoot back in the 1960’s when she was a young mother desiring to have pictures of her son and daughter as they were growing up. More recently, she has been a regular attendee at various photographic exhibits in the valley and thereby exposing herself to many individuals’ unique styles of photography.

In 2003, Elaine enrolled in a six-week course at Greenfield Community College and bought her first 35 mm camera, a Canon T90. She has been experimenting with photographing flowers, birds and landscapes. She attended the New England Camera Council weekend at the University of Massachusetts. Since 2003 she has immersed herself into the basic elements of 35 mm photography and is now printing, framing, and exhibiting her own work.

Elaine has always had a love of nature and it seems only natural for her to try to capture the beauty of it on film.
